Here’s what we’re working on for Readwise Books between now and full-scale launch. This is specifically about the next 6 weeks and not beyond. Plans change, so please read this as our best current thinking rather than a promise. We’ll keep it updated as things ship.

Page turns in Kindle books
Kindle books opened in Readwise Books can now turn pages instead of scrolling. Turn it on under Settings > Reading view.
Recover removed Kindle books
Bring back Kindle books you removed, from the “...” menu on your Kindle shelf.
Private books
Hide any book on your shelves from everyone else. Long-press its cover.
Reading themes
Seven new themes for the reading view.
Note that everything else (such as updates to Highlights and Reader) is in the changelog.

An optional yearly membership with text-to-speech and AI tools on your uploaded books, a badge on your profile, various bookshop perks, and more to come. It’s included with a full Readwise subscription at no extra cost. Readwise Books app itself stays free.

Shelve, rate, review, or finish a book in Readwise Books and Goodreads updates too. Sessions also sync as updates to Goodreads progress.

Discounted ebook prices
Most big publisher ebooks are sold pursuant to “agency” pricing where the publisher sets the price for all retail outlets. That said, there are some ebooks that are still sold using a traditional wholesale model where we, the retailer, have the right to discounts. We need to implement a discount for these non-agency titles.

The bookshop is US-only for now. International users will get a warning up front instead of at checkout.
