At the age of fifty-three, married Canadian engineer Carlton Smythe meets a mysterious woman in a Buenos Aires bar - and falls head over heels in love for the first time in his life. Desperate to find the funds to escape his loveless marriage to Cynthia and embark on a new life in Argentina with the beautiful Gina Ellanado, Smythe devises an audacious money-making scheme, brilliant in its simplicity and boldness. Donald Bain, a graduate of Purdue University, received Purdue's highest award for his work in educational radio and television and was designated a Purdue "Distinguished Alumni" in 2003. Bain went on to work professionally in broadcasting in Texas and Indiana, and co-hosted more than 200 shows in New York with Long John Nebel, then king of late-night talk-radio. He is the author or ghost/author of more than 90 books, many of them bestsellers. His publications encompass both fiction and non-fiction, and include such categories as murder mysteries, westerns, comedies, investigative journalism, food, business, psychology and historical dramatizations.
