The Papillon - A Complete Anthology of the Dog

Named for the butterfly set of its ears, the Papillon is a dainty continental toy spaniel of the European courts. The Papillon gathers the scattered early literature of the breed – its history, description, character and management – into a single readable volume.

These collected accounts range across the Papillon's history and origins, its description and character, and the practical business of rearing, breeding and showing it, assembled from the works of the fanciers and authorities who knew the breed best.

A rewarding companion for Papillon enthusiasts and breed historians alike, this modern edition keeps a wealth of early material in print and within easy reach.

This edition features:

• Brings the breed's foundational writers together in one collection.
• Covers the breed's history, origins, description and character.
• Includes period guidance on breeding, rearing and showing.
