A hippo leaves the zoo to follow his dreams — with a red panda in tow.
Life at the zoo is perfectly fine for Hippo.
Same meals. Same visitors. Same routine every day.
But his best friend Red Panda wants more out of life — more adventure, more excitement, and maybe even a fabulous new career.
So the two friends escape the zoo and dive headfirst into the human world, trying every job imaginable: hairstylists, firefighters, chefs, construction workers, and more. Unfortunately, being adorable animals doesn’t automatically make them qualified.
From bestselling creator John Patrick Green — author of the wildly popular InvestiGators series — comes a hilarious, heartwarming graphic novel about friendship, identity, and discovering where you truly belong.
Packed with:
- laugh-out-loud visual comedy
- lovable animal characters
- positive friendship themes
- kid-friendly humor and adventure

John is definitely a multiple New York Times-bestselling human author and not just a bunch of animals in a trench coat pretending to have a human job. With over five million copies of InvestiGators in print, John is a successful human being with only two hands and a normal amount of fur. He lives in a Brooklyn apartment that doesn't allow animals other than the ones living in his head.
