In this book, you will read my tips and recommendations for becoming an excellent helper at an ayahuasca ceremony. Before becoming a helper, it is highly recommended that you experience ayahuasca-often called plant medicine-yourself, and then work through your experience with an integration coach or therapist who is also familiar with the medicine. Having experienced the medicine yourself provides an understanding that goes far beyond what you can learn from reading books and watching YouTube videos, and it gives you a better sense of what a guest may be going through during their journey. Many helpers have told me that it was their greatest honor to hold space for people as they went through their ayahuasca ceremonies. Being a helper is more than simply watching over guests. It requires patience, empathy, humility, awareness, and a genuine desire to be of service. This book is designed to help you become the kind of helper you would have wanted beside you.
