A Musical Spoof of the Old West
Tell us what's wrong and we'll take a look.
Thanks – we got it. We'll review and follow up if needed.
HOW THE WEST WAS DONE is fast paced, toe tapping', rip roarin' "Western" show full of authentic American music and many original songs that will both delight the heart as well as tug at its strings. To say that this show both spoofs and honors our western heritage, is to call a polecat a just a skunk.
Not wanting to spoil it all, let's just say that like all good cowboy stories, everything ends happily for everyone concerned. Looking for love on the lone prairie takes more gumption and spit than anything, and these characters certainly have it!
The show is jam-packed with familiar tunes like:
SHENENDOAH,
SHE'LL BE COMIN' ROUND THE MOUNTAIN,
I'M A RAMBLER I'M A GAMBLER,
HOME ON THE RANGE,
DANNY BOY,
THE GAL I LEFT BEHIND,
OH, SUSANNAH,
MY DARLING CLEMENTINE, and
ON THE LONE PRAIRIE,
as well as the original songs:
HOW THE WEST WAS DONE,
THERE'S A STAGECOACH A COMIN',
THE WILD WILD WEST,
TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, and
A BIT OF THIS AND THAT,
the stage resounds with glorious voices, laughs, and perhaps a touching moment or two.
Premiered at Thanksgiving Point in Utah for the 2002 Olympics
