Nevada Nightmares, Vol. 2

Nevada Nightmares, Vol. 2 is an excursion into some of Nevada's weirdest, scariest, and most offbeat stories, assembled by the editors of Dragon Crown Books. The second entry in this two-volume set features new stories from some of the Silver State's most acclaimed contemporary authors, set alongside vintage tales from Nevada's literary legends.

We've delved into the archives to find celebrated and lesser-known tales from the likes of Mark Twain, Dan De Quille, Sarah Winnemucca, and Sam Davis. We've also included tales from award-winning authors and seasoned paranormal investigators. Sprinkled among these stories are a number of newspaper articles from the halcyon days of Nevada's youth: some deliberate hoaxes, others legends, still others reports that may or may not have held some degree of truth. As the original writers did, we leave these matters for the reader to judge.

In these pages, you'll find tales that span a century and a half of history-and legends that date back far earlier. Tales of ghosts, sea serpents, demons, brothels, and phenomena peculiar to this neck of the woods (or sagebrush). You'll read about water babies, giants, mining tragedies, quickie divorces, outlaws, serial killers, and more.
