He's been running from his mate for six years. She's been running from herself even longer.
Lily Thornton came back to Blackpine to help her grandmother heal. She didn't expect to feel more trapped than ever-until Jace Mercer walks into her store and changes everything.
Jace knows three truths with absolute certainty. He's a wolf shifter. Lily is his fated mate. The last time he revealed his nature, the woman he loved screamed "monster" and threatened to expose his entire pack.
He chooses her anyway.
Every day Jace shows up at the store, helps with inventory, makes her grandmother laugh, walks away before the truth can escape. Every night Lily dreams of brown eyes that flash impossible gold. The pull between them defies logic, gravity, everything she understands about the world.
Her father forbids it. The town watches with knowing eyes. Strange things keep happening-rescue teams finding lost hikers in record time, massive wolves appearing at town edges, heat pouring off Jace's skin like he's burning from the inside out.
When Lily demands the truth, will Jace risk his shattered heart one more time?
