In Groping Toward the Light: Poems for Midnight and After, acclaimed fantasist Darrell Schweitzer explores the shadowy borders between dreams and nightmares, life and death, the familiar and the unknown. Drawing on the traditions of Gothic literature, weird fiction, and supernatural horror, these poems range from the eerie and unsettling to the thoughtful and deeply personal.

Schweitzer brings the same imagination and dark wit to his poetry that have distinguished his fiction. By turns haunting, strange, and moving, this collection offers a journey through the darker reaches of the human spirit.

With an introduction by Donald Sidney-Fryer and illustrations by Jason Van Hollander.
