Daniel Ellis

On November 4, 2015, Richmond Police Officer Daniel Ellis was shot while investigating a robbery. Two days later, he succumbed to his injuries - leaving behind a wife, a young son, and a community forever changed.

Daniel Ellis: In The Line of Duty tells the story of the man behind the badge - his childhood in Campbellsville, his education at Eastern Kentucky University, his years of honorable service, and his enduring impact on those he protected.

Author Joe Clark weaves together verified accounts, public records, and personal reflection to create a deeply human portrait of a husband, father, and protector whose memory continues to inspire nearly a decade after his death.

From the heartbreaking events of November 2015 to the outpouring of unity that followed, this book honors the faith, forgiveness, and resilience that defined both Ellis's life and the community that loved him.

This is not just a story of loss - it's a story of hope, courage, and the power of a life lived in service to others.
