Charlotte is fifteen and grieving over the loss of her beautiful mother. Her relationship with her father is put to the test as she discovers sex, ambition and 'beauty products'. Inspired by Euripides but with its sights set firmly on contemporary America, A Brief History of Helen of Troy is an unsettling examination of complacency culture and the politics of beauty.
Since entering the world of cartooning in the mid-1980s with the science-fiction adventure series Xenozoic Tales, Mark Schultz has slowly but consistently produced a truly diversified body of work: He has produced illustrations for Robert E. Howard's Conan stories; scripted four years of Superman and currently scripts Prince Valiant; composed a science guide to genetics and DNA; created the Stormforce 10 adventure SubHuman with paleontologist Michael J. Ryan; and written the novella Storms at Sea, which he also illustrated. Currently, in his free moments, Schultz continues to work on a new Xenozoic graphic novel as well as a sequel to Storms at Sea. Flesk has been the artist's publisher since 2005 and continues to regularly release collections of his sketches, commissions and personal works.
