The Overneath

In these new and uncollected tales, beloved author Peter S. Beagle has reinvented himself as the conductor of the imagination. Lyrical, witty, and unexpected, in these stories of the Overneath, one can arrive anywhere:

—An odd couple patrols a rural county chock-full of mythological beasts (which are only slightly more problematic than the locals).

—A familiar youngster from the world of The Last Unicorn is gifted in magic but terrible at spell-casting.

—The Bronx of yesteryear holds four unlikely heroes trying to protect their neighbor from a strange harbinger of death: The Dark Terrier.

—Kao Yu, a previously incorruptible judge, meets match in a mysterious thief who steals his heart.
