Peter Seidel spent decades studying the long-term consequences of unchecked economic growth. 2145 is where he put those findings into human form.
In the year 2145, the 21st century has a name. People call it the Wasteful Century. A hundred years of growth at any cost has produced what the data always suggested it would. Water costs $130 a bottle. The former American tropics are uninhabitable. Pythons spread north through Tennessee because the ecological systems that once stopped them are gone. Seidel built this world from United Nations data, not imagination. Order 2145 and see how much of the invoice has already arrived.
Peter Seidel holds a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado and a Masters in Architectural Planning from the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he studied under renowned architect Mies van der Rohe. Seidel has served as a faculty member at the University of Michigan and Virginia Tech, and he also taught at Central China Institute of Science and Technology. His work has been published in numerous academic journals, and he has also authored four other books: Invisible Walls, Global Survival, 2045, and Uncommon Sense.
