Mills & Boon Western Romance — Small towns, cowboys and contemporary romance, the all-American way!
Anyone But A Fortune - Judy Duarte
Self-made woman Sofia DeLeon has heard enough about the old-money Fortune family to know that Beau Fortune is not to be trusted. He might be tall, dark, handsome and rich, but he’s so not her type. And now that they are competing for the same business award, he is also her rival. It is just a hot Texas minute, though, before ambition begins warring with attraction…
The Cowboy Meets His Match - Melinda Curtis
Racing boat captain Olivia Monroe never imagined breaking up with the ocean and starting a fake relationship with too-charming cowboy Rhett Diaz. Now her family’s insisting Olivia and Rhett take an adventurous road trip as a ‘couple.’ Only somewhere between zip-lining and rappelling down a waterfall, Olivia’s rediscovering her courage — and dangerous new feelings for Rhett. But how can a sailor love a land-locked cowboy…especially one with secrets?
The Wrangler Rides Again - Stella Bagwell
For years, rugged cowboy Jim Carroway has been more at home with horses than with people. But when stunning nanny Tallulah O’Brien arrives to wrangle the kids of Three Rivers Ranch, she soon tempts him from the barn back to life. After Jim lost his pregnant wife, he thought he’d closed his heart forever. Can the vibrant, vivacious Tally convince him that it’s never too late for love’s second act?
To Trust A Cowboy - Sasha Summers
Forest Briscoe’s best friend was also the kindest woman in Garrison, Texas. So when Hattie Carmichael learns her brother is marrying the girl who’d bullied her all through school, Forest wants to help. He runs with an unexpected opportunity to take pressure off Hattie and shift her family’s focus to them — as a couple. Pretending to be in love with his friend was no hardship. Though it might prove a hard habit for this cowboy to break.
The author of over seventy-five titles for Harlequin, Stella Bagwell writes about familes, the West, strong, silent men of honor and the women who love them. Judy always loved reading romances, but never thought of herself as a writer.
"English was my least favorite subject in school, but I was always a storyteller," she admits. "Growing up, I was the kid in the neighborhood who decided what roles we would play and the pretend situation were in."
As a single mom with four children, Judy returned to school and graduated from the University of California at Irvine with a degree in social ecology. The new direction helped her confidence grow, and when a hero she could believe in came into her real life, she was even more inspired. Determined to do something about her love of writing, Judy joined Romance Writers of America and met her two critique partners. The trio have worked together and encouraged each other ever since.
Judy likes to take ordinary characters and put them in emotionally compelling situations that make them grow. "It takes some of the stubborn and hurting characters a while to learn there is always a way out," Judy maintains, "but when they realize their options, there's no stopping them."
Her unpublished stories won not only the coveted Emily and Orange Rose Awards, but also earned her the status of a double Golden Heart finalist in 2001. Her first book, Cowboy Courage, sold to the Silhouette Special Edition line, where she seems to have found her niche. "I credit a large part of my success to my critique partners, Crystal Green and Sheri WhiteFeather, who also write for Silhouette," she says.
On those days when a stubborn hero and a headstrong heroine claim her undivided attention, she and her family are thankful for fast food, pizza delivery, and video games. When she's not at the keyboard or in a Walter-Mitty-type world, she enjoys traveling, romantic evenings with her personal hero, and playing board games with her kids.

Melinda grew up on an isolated sheep ranch, where mountain lions had been seen and yet she roamed unaccompanied. Being a rather optimistic, clueless of danger, sort she took to playing "what if" games that led her to become an author. She spends days trying to figure out new ways to say "He made her heart pound." That might sound boring, but the challenge keeps her mentally ahead of her 3 kids and college sweetheart husband.
