Locate and Kill

Ditched by his girl, he suddenly realized he has nothing left. His life, his plans, and his ambitions are in tatters. MACV is desperate to retain good men, experienced jungle fighters. Offers promotion and the chance to join a new unit, the Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol. Known as 'LURPs' their task is to locate the enemy. And kill them.

Unbeknown to Heller, other forces are converging on his patrol area. The Red Cross is on a well-meaning mission to inoculate vulnerable peasants against a host of diseases that blight their lives. Further north, the communists, a disease for which there is no inoculation, other than a bullet, have embarked on a mission of a different kind. One that will bring widespread terror and death to the same peasants. They have prepared a huge surprise, a sucker punch they believe could win them the war.

Rick Heller and the survivors of his unit find themselves caught in the middle. Swapping bullet for bullet, and grenade for grenade, with an enemy intent on slaughtering every man, woman, and child who may stand in their way.
